Description:  Beautiful looking 1908 Alco-Brooks built ten wheeler stopped at the Fruitvale station in Oakland, CA. Note the two boxcars to the side. The cost when delivered was $14,397. A highly detailed note on the back of the photo states "Western Pacific The Scenic Limeted, 10 wheel locomotive - 4-6-0 - No. 79, 1-D&RGW-Baggage, 1-W.P.-Baggage, 1-D&RGW-Coach, 2-Sleepers, 1-Diner, 1-Obs. Sleeper, At Oakland (Fruitvale Station) Calif" Specifics - TP-29 class, 67" drivers, 200 psi boiler pressure, 21x26" cylinders, engine weight of 181,000 lb, modest tractive effort of 29,093.
