Description:  I was able to get an hour or so to check out the action on a recent trip to Cleveland. East of town, the mains of the Nickel Plate(NS) and CSX(NYC) are adjacent most of the way to Buffalo. CSX runs many more trains, where NS might run 20 in a day. So its always a treat to get one there. NS did not disappoint, sending this 80 car auto rack train past.

Description:  I had a little free time during a recent trip to Cleveland, so was able to get out and check the action for a short while. I picked a spot east of Cleveland where the NS and CSX run adjacent, which they do most of the way to Buffalo. CSX chipped in two trains and a Sperry car while I was there.

Description:  I was sitting at a light when this train showed up on the overpass. Fortunately, I keep the camera at the ready for just such an occasion. The only thing that made it a challenge was the tow truck that turned as I took the shot, partly obscuring the lead unit, and throwing off the auto focus. Thats the chance you take with a grab shot.

Amboy IC Depot
Title:  Amboy IC Depot
Description:  Built in 1876 as the IC Northern Division headquarters, it remained as such until 1894 when its importance and duties were downsized to just a depot status. Beautifully restored and maintained Illinois Central depot at Amboy, iL, now serves as one of the museum buildings for historical artifacts. It now stands as an lone island of railroading with no tracks through the town.
