Chicago Burlington & Quincy Railroad E7 9919A westbound at Naperville, Illinois on February 13, 1965, Ektachrome by Chuck Zeiler. Number 9919A was built in November 1945 (c/n 2944) on EMD Order E646, and was retired and sold for scrap in August 1968 to Precision Engineering. It was delivered semi-permanently coupled to 9919B and ran in that configuration until the late-1950's, when nose MU connections were added. It is seen here heading Train Number 11, the Nebraska Zephyr, the daily mail train between Chicago and Lincoln, Nebraska. |
