NS 9261 Derailed         
At 22:55 on 12-29-2003 loaded grain train G-SJOLAR9-26 (BNSF 4648, NS 9361, BNSF 0032, 103 loads, 0 empties, 13,789 tons, 6087 feet) failed to stop at the red signal at the west siding switch at Pauls Valley. This trian struck train H-PTRSTL9-28 (BNSF 4349, BNSF 4866, ATSF 609, 22 loads, 45 empties, 4222 tons, 3809 feet) as it was taking siding. This resulted in the derailment of the three locomotives on G-SJOLAR9-26 and four cars (OCPX 62871, DOWX 79567, DOWX 79678, and NzTX 82801) on H-PTRSTL9-28. This series of photographs documents the recovery process from first light through the ballasting of the installed track panels late in the evening. The main track |as placed back in service at 15:05 on 12-30-2003. This photo shows Hulcher sidebooms moving in position to rerail engine NS 9361 after having just rerailed car NATX 82801.
