Sharknose Pennsy #9569 heads up a freight at the famous Horsehoe Curve in Altoona, PA. Built by Baldwin in 3/1949, its distinctive nose was a redesigned body by Raymond Loewy. "DR-4-4-15" stands for "Diesel, Road, 4 total axles, 4 powered axles", 1,500 h.p.". Sharknose was an easier name! No date or phototograhper was listed for this action photo.
