PRR 5227, E-3SD, c. 1936
Here is an original photo by Rod Dirkes. Shown here is Pennsylvania Railroad engine #5227, an E-3SD (4-4-2) "Atlantic" built in Juniata as E-2A number "5754" during 1904, rebuilt as an E-2SA and renumbered "5254" in April of 1917, rebuilt as an E-3SD and renumbered "5227" in September of 1919, and retired in April of 1940 after 36 years of faithful service. The exact date and the location are not recorded, but it's likely on the Long Island Rail Road. ("TCinthecouv"; #2 of 4)
