| UP 1049 GP60 (Union Pacific classifies this diesel a GP62) creeps uphill with a transfer run. Delivered to St. Louis - Southwestern (Cotton Belt) as SSW 9638 in March 1990, patched UP 1992 on May 7, 2007, patched again as UP 1049 on October 11, 2013, then modified as a GP62 in December 2015. The GP62 is a standard GP60 with a re-positioned control stand to allow for easier long hood forward operation. Some SD60s are having the same modifications performed and are now called SD62s. |
