Hazy. Here is an original telephoto view that I took of a Penn Central Railroad locomotive in Altoona, Pennsylvania, during July of 1973. Shown here is PC engine #3148, a GP-40 built by EMD in September of 1968. It is one of two EMD GP-40's which are passing under the 4th Street Bridge with a merchandise freight train on their way up the Allegheny Mountains via the Horseshoe Curve to Gallitzin and points West. Photo taken from the 4th Street Bridge. |
