Massive and powerful are the two adjectives for this 2-8-8-4 Yellowstone type steam locomtoive built by Baldwin in 1944 as BO #7601 (serial #70063). The impressive loco sereved quite successfully until dieselization hit the roster. Even then, they were occasionally pulled back into action, even to head up a few passenger trains! What a sight that would have been! The loco was renumbered in 1956 to BO 651 and dropped from the roster in 1960. No photographer was listed for this photo. |
